Last night, my family attended Opening Night of the brand new Ringling Bros. show, and we had an absolute blast!  In a show reminiscent of Cirque du Soleil, performers bent steel bars with their necks, a record-breaking number of motorcycles rode around inside of a giant ball, and the clowns had us all in stitches!  The athleticism of the performers truly is amazing.

Time Travel, Anyone? Why, yes, thank you!

My family time traveled this weekend.  

At History Colorado Center, anyone can travel back in time...and have tons of fun doing it!  Who knew that Colorado had such a rich and interesting history (the museum was huge!)?  

We attended at birthday party at History Colorado, and none of us could stop talking about it.  This place has something (mostly hands-on) for every age group.  My two year old milked a cow, drove a Model-T and went down a slide (about a million times).  My 7 year old collected eggs, turned them in to the General Store and tried her luck on a ski jump (she crashed).  My 11 year old experienced what it would be like to live in the Japanese internment camps, and pushed a time machine around a giant floor map (his choice...1912...Molly Brown).

We were lucky enough to partake in the amazing food at History Colorado Center...it is restaurant quality and date-night worthy!  We tried the pizza ($15-$17 for a 16") and the to-die-for cupcakes ($1.50 each).  The Center has its own catering company in-house and you can easily add food to your event...and this is no ordinary birthday party fare!

LEGO KIDSFEST COMES TO DENVER

A sea of Lego Bricks invites children and adults alike!

If your kiddo is into Lego Bricks at all, you must attend Lego KidsFest!  This huge event is a Lego Lover's dream...from Lego sculptures that are bigger than my 6'6" husband to a sea of loose Lego Bricks, your Lego Fan could not ask for more!


Did you know that Lego prefers that their toys be referred to as Lego "Bricks", not Legos?  I didn't. :)

Tickets are sold to the event in 2 1/2 hour sessions, and at least here in Denver, several sessions were sold out ahead of time.  There are several places to purchase food, and you cab visit the Lego store if you are in the market for a new kit or two.  But, the real fun starts on the floor...

Monochromatic sections were interspersed throughout the Convention Center location, which was fun for all ages.  Even my toddler got into stacking the pink Lego Bricks as high as he could.  Classes and contests were offered during each session, but be sure to get there and sign up early as they fill up quickly.  Demonstrations popped up here and there...a favorite was a bridge built to hold weights (although I think the REAL favorite was when that bridge was obliterated under 20lbs!).
